McDonald’s Has Discontinued Using “Pink Slime” In Hamburgers

McDonald’s has announced that it will no longer use ammonium hydroxide in its hamburgers.

Often referred to as “pink slime”, ammonium hydroxide is used in fertilizers, household cleaners and even explosives. McDonald’s gave the reason why they decided to stop using the chemical to prepare hamburgers.

At the beginning of 2011, we made a decision to discontinue the use of ammonia-treated beef in our hamburgers. This product has been out of our supply chain since August of last year. This decision was a result of our efforts to align our global standards for how we source beef around the world.

The food industry has used ammonium hydroxide as an anti-microbial agent to process meat that would otherwise be inedible.

Kids Given Diapers And Abandoned On The Street

A mother in Brooklyn has been arrested after she abandoned her two kids on the street with nothing but an extra set of diapers.

The kids, two girls ages 5 and 2, were left on the street after the mother became upset with the two girls and decided to leave them to teach them a lesson.

When police found the children, the older child was able to describe where they lived and told police that her mother left them. After piecing together information from video surveillance and the girl’s description of the mother, police were able to locate Dalisha Adams, 26, and arrest her with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Massive Florida Highway Pileup Kills Ten

A massive pileup on a Florida highway has claimed the lives of at least 10 people and injured another 18.

What started as a 3-car accident in the early morning hours turned into a devastating multi-car pileup including tractor trailers, a tour bus and a multitude of cars.

Authorities are blaming the accident on dense fog which caused poor visibility. The fog is believed to be a factor in the initial crash. The highway was closed for a short time and then for reasons unknown the highway was reopened and minutes later the second accident occurred that caused a chain reaction resulting in the deaths of 10 people.

Police Find Handgun Hidden Inside Inmate

A wanted man in Georgia is arrested in Jacksonville, NC and police make a surprising discovery after the suspect was already booked into jail.

Michael Ward, wanted for murder in Canton,GA, was pulled over for speeding in Onslow County. He gave the officer a driver license that was not his own and was arrested.

Now here is were the story gets interesting. The officer claims he searched Ward as best he could after Ward indicated he had a medical condition. Ward was taken to the hospital to be checked out and was searched again. At that time Ward was taken to the county jail where he was searched a third time. He was even stripped search and officers found no weapons. But the next morning inmates who were sharing a cell with Ward told officers Ward had a .38 caliber pistol on him.

The gun, which measured about 10-inches long, was believed to have been stored in the suspect’s rectum. His reason for hiding the gun was probably due to the fact that he has a warrant for his arrest in Canton, Ga for murder.

Ward was subsequently taken to the hospital to be checked out again. He is awaiting extradition back to Georgia.

Woman Caught Making Meth Inside Walmart

Alicia Halfmoon was arrested after police say the woman was making meth inside a Tulsa Walmart.

Police reviewed video surveillance footage taken from inside the Walmart and saw Halfmoon mixing chemicals inside a bottle. The store’s security actually caught Halfmoon while she was completing the mixing processing which included sulfuric acid and starter fluid.

Halfmoon and the bottle were removed from the store before anyone was seriously hurt.

80-Year-Old Faces Criminal Charges For Feeding Ducks

Claire Butcher is known as the Lynn “Bird Lady”. She goes to the park almost everyday to feed the ducks but city officials want her to stop.

Officials have filed a criminal complaint against Butcher because not only is feeding the birds against the law its also causing a public health problem. The city attorney has been bombarded with complaints about the enormous amount of bird feces that line the walkways of the park.

She has been cited almost a dozen times to stop feeding the birds and has even violated a no trespass order. Butcher can been seen some days hauling a shopping cart full of bread and dog food through the city park. Officials stated that feeding the birds especially on a scale of this magnitude causes birds to return and be more aggressive in the hopes of finding food. Not to mention the huge mess it creates on the park’s sidewalks.

So far Butcher has no plans to stop even with the threat of jail.

Pastor And Wife Have 24-Hour “Sexperiment” On Church Roof

Pastor Ed Young decided to do something you wouldn’t normally expect from a man of the cloth. The pastor and his wife Lisa took to the rooftop of his Mega Church to have what he calls a “sexperiment”.

He says he and his wife will stay in bed for 24-hours to encourage couples to have more intimacy. He urges couples to try and have sex for 7 days.

The pastor also has a book out which is also called “The Sexperiment”. In it he teaches married couples how to become more intimate and also teaches single people how become more open to love and commitment once they are ready to walk down the aisle. Proceeds for the book are going back to the church.
