A Beijing police officer is being hailed as a hero after rescuing a woman and her baby from the city’s Guanghua bridge.
Officer Qiao Jinhaiand came to the scene after motorist spotted the woman climbing over the bridge’s railing with a baby in her arms. The officer managed to grab the frantic woman right before she attempted to jump. The baby was taken by onlookers at the scene. The entire ordeal was captured by surveillance cameras near the bridge. No word on why the woman intended to jump.
Joshua Robey, 24, was arrested after police say he tried to kill his infant son. Investigators say the crime was caught on camera. Robey is facing attempted murder, torture and child abuse charges. Anaheim police say Robey was left with alone with his 2 month-old son. The child’s mother had a hidden camera set up because she thought Robey was cheating on her. But instead of catching him in the act, she saw something much worse. The video apparently shows Robey swinging the child with a blanket around the baby’s neck. Investigators say he also punched, slapped and shook the baby.
A Muncie woman has been arrested after police said she sexually assaulted a 6-month-old girl. The assault also left the baby with a sexually transmitted disease. Police said Ashley Stapert, 21, admitted she and her former boyfriend assaulted her friend’s daughter while living with the friend. Stapert admitted to investigators that she fondled the child and performed a sex act on the child as well. The probable cause stated the infants mother allowed Stapert and Stapert’s boyfriend at the time to stay with her because she believed they were homeless.
A father is in police custody charged with child abuse after police say the father stuffed a baby wipe down his two month-old infant son’s mouth to keep him quiet. Joshua Rains claims the baby accidentally swallowed the baby wipe and when he went in after it the wipe got stuck. Paramedics were able to revive the child after performing 20 minutes of CPR. Social workers who are investigating the incident also reported that the child had a detached eye lens that was never reported.
A DeKalb County, Georgia mother is willing to face jail time to prove she didn’t deserve to be kicked out of a Decatur library. A trial date has been set for Donnetta Foster, who says police arrested her because her baby was making noise in the library. Foster, a 20 year-old single mother, faces 1 year in jail if convicted of obstruction of a police officer. Police say when Foster was told to leave the library, she became angry and began using profanity. She was charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly cursing in front of children.
Residents in the township of Tabubil, Western Province, are hiding in fear after a week-old baby was eaten alive in front of a shocked crowd. The alleged suspect was the baby’s own father. Now parents are hiding their children in fear they could be next.
