Man Beaten To Death By Police After Hugging A Cop

A Toronto man is dead after being beaten by police over a case of mistaken identity.

Oscar Bartholomew was visiting family in his native country of Grenada in the town of St. David. Bartholomew’s family says he was arrested after hugging a police officer that he mistook for an old family friend.

While in custody Bartholomew was beaten and hospitalized. He later died of his injuries. The medical examiner reported that the victim suffered multiple skull fractures and eventually died as a result from hemorrhaging of the brain.

The family has hired an attorney and has also requested an internal review on exactly why Bartholomew was beaten so severely. Grenada’s Prime Minster said an investigation will be done.
