Police Officer Stops Woman From Jumping Off A Bridge With Baby

A Beijing police officer is being hailed as a hero after rescuing a woman and her baby from the city’s Guanghua bridge.

Officer Qiao Jinhaiand came to the scene after motorist spotted the woman climbing over the bridge’s railing with a baby in her arms. The officer managed to grab the frantic woman right before she attempted to jump. The baby was taken by onlookers at the scene. The entire ordeal was captured by surveillance cameras near the bridge. No word on why the woman intended to jump.

Erin Langworthy, 22, can certainly count her blessings after falling more than 300 feet from from the Victoria Falls Bridge.

Langworthy was making the plunge off the bridge that sits atop of the Zambezi River on the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia.

“It went black straight away and I felt like I’d been slapped all over.” Langworthy says of her fall into the crocodile-infested waters.

Luckily. Langworthy was able to swim to the river banks where she met rescuers. She spent a week in a South African hospital with a broken collar bone and bruising.
